Code REDD is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and scale the REDD+ mechanism to empower people, preserve forests, reduce emissions, and protect wildlife.

Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) is a mechanism that was developed by the UN to address the 17% of greenhouse gasses that are a result of deforestation. By valuing the carbon storage services that forests provide, REDD+ creates alternative, low-carbon pathways to economic development for governments and forest communities. 

We aim to create a world where the REDD+ mechanism is widely adopted within private sector practices, corporate business models, and regulatory frameworks to drastically reduce deforestation, value ecosystem services, promote low carbon development, and enable a transition to the green economy.

Our primary activities are focused on engaging the private sector on REDD+; aligning development, climate, and conservation policies and reporting with REDD+; and uniting the global REDD+ community to advance our shared goals.
