Throughout our 38 year history, CEL has successfully welcomed thousands of students from around the globe to learn English with us. We go beyond the classroom in our teaching English. Learning English at CEL is more than just a language course; it is an experience, it is an adventure of a lifetime.

Our team at CEL is continually working hard, to provide exceptional customer service every day.  Our customers share the same values as we do:  modern teaching methods, family atmosphere, learning in small classes all whilst getting to know the American culture.  This approach is the key for our success over more than 3 decades and more than 50,000 students passing through our hallways. 

The mission of CEL is to provide English Language instruction and educational programs to speakers of other languages who want to improve their English skills for personal, academic, or professional reasons.  As well, our goal is to enrich the students’ cultural experiences through a variety of activities using host families and local and regional venues.  Finally, our aim is to provide these by establishing a professional yet friendly atmosphere not only in our offices, common areas, and classrooms but through our hosts so that every student feels accepted into a friendly and supportive environment where learning can take place.

CEL has two beautiful locations in Downtown San Diego and Downtown Santa Monica just 3 blocks from the beach. We also provide winter and summer camps for teenagers in Southern California.
