The College of Policing operates as the national body for leadership, standards and performance within policing in England and Wales. It aims to provide the police with the tools, skills and knowledge necessary to cut crime and safeguard the public. Its remit includes setting standards, promoting evidence-based good practice, accrediting training providers, fostering partnership work and leading on ethics and integrity. Based in London, it employs a workforce drawn from the policing community to support this mandate. Its customers are police officers and staff across England and Wales, as well as partner organisations and training providers involved in policing. In 2026 the College launched a frontline supervisor training programme and introduced three new courses addressing digital investigations and the handling of digital evidence.
