The Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) is a statewide organization that supports locally elected school boards in Colorado. Its mission is to advance excellence in public education through effective leadership by these boards, achieved by providing resources, services, and training for governing districts. Established in 1940, CASB was created to unite school board members in promoting the welfare of Colorado school districts. The association is governed by a 22-member board of directors drawn from local boards across the state. Its membership includes the majority of Colorado's 178 school districts, representing roughly 1,160 school board members and superintendents statewide. Based in Denver, CASB advocates for local boards and their students while providing ongoing governance resources, and in October 2025 it launched a 'Boardsmanship' mini-course bundle to help board candidates prepare for leadership.
