Columbia-Harlem Community Enterprise Acceleration Program (HCEAP) is a no-cost summer program in the business consulting and services sector that serves Harlem and Upper Manhattan. It aims to strengthen core capabilities for local entrepreneurs, small business owners, and social enterprises by developing financial management, marketing, and technology know-how to support growth. The program is delivered through Tamer Institute Executive Education and draws advisors from Columbia Business School and the broader university community. Based in New York City, the initiative operates with a small team. It offers training, peer support, networking opportunities, pro bono assistance, and access to mentors from the Columbia network. The curriculum covers financial management and analysis, digital marketing strategies, technology-needs assessment and implementation planning, and legal guidance on entities, contracts, and trademarks, complemented by peer-based coaching to develop optimization and growth plans. All materials costs and catering for in-person sessions are provided at no cost.
