Our Process
Traditional internal hospital review lacks the benefits of an external and independent perspective. Our External Review as a Service (ERaaS) platform permits hospitals to implement objective and real-time chart critique. Review is fully HIPAA-compliant. CHA performs the review thus minimizing hospital staff time. ERaaS does not require an electronic medical record and permits 100 percent chart review, if desired. Chart critiques are delivered directly to physicians for immediate use to support the doctor and benefit the patient. Review centers upon all aspects of blood use, then extends to evaluation of full diagnostic and treatment services. The cost effectiveness of our ERaaS platform is shown in Marin General Hospital’s dramatic 30 percent reduced blood component use in 90 days with a savings of over $860,000 over 4 quarters in direct blood supply cost and resulting reduction in overall patient care costs.
