CIRCA, the Columbia International Relations Council and Association, is an international affairs organization directed and coordinated by Columbia University undergraduates. Founded in 2001 and based in New York, it operates as one of Columbia’s largest student-run groups, with a broad membership engaged across several branches that advance knowledge and discussion of international relations through debate, discussion, and service. The organization comprises seven main components, including Model United Nations conferences at both college and high-school levels, a philanthropic simulation program for local students, a competitive travel team, a student-led political magazine, forums featuring current events speakers, and a social and marketing board to coordinate events across campus. CIRCA’s activities are centered on education and discourse for undergraduates, offering opportunities to participate in simulations, publish analysis, engage with current affairs, and connect with peers interested in international affairs.
