Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania is a regional nonprofit dedicated to preventing student dropouts by surrounding learners with a supportive community that helps them stay in school and succeed in life. Its approach places staff inside public schools, working with teachers, counselors, and principals to coordinate a network of supports, ranging from school-wide to individualized services. These supports are designed to improve attendance, reduce suspensions, and enhance academic outcomes, with targeted, case-managed assistance for students at risk of leaving school.

Across Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties, the organization offers counseling, mentoring, tutoring, support for alternative education, after-school programs, career and college readiness, dropout reengagement, and connections to community resources. Based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, CIS Eastern Pennsylvania operates as a nonprofit within the education and community-support landscape, pursuing a mission to end the dropout epidemic and ensure every student graduates.
