Through a school-based site coordinator, Communities In Schools strategically aligns and delivers needed resources so that students can focus on learning. Founded on the national-level more than 30 years ago, Communities In Schools (CIS) is the nation's largest dropout prevention organization, and the only organization proven to increase graduation rates and decrease dropout rates. Serving students and families in Metropolitan Detroit since 1995, CIS links existing education and community resources to schools to help students successfully learn, stay in school, and continue on the path to graduation.
