The Community College of Allegheny County is a public two-year institution in higher education, serving the Greater Pittsburgh area from four campuses, five neighborhood centers, and additional off-site locations. Founded in 1966, the college supports a large veteran student population and aims to provide accessible education and practical career pathways. Each year, more than 25,000 students enroll in about 160 degree, certificate, diploma, and transfer programs, alongside noncredit and workforce development courses. CCAC places particular emphasis on health-related fields, with graduates entering nursing and other health professions in notable numbers. Its alumni pursue further study at colleges and universities and find roles in leading companies, organizations, and institutions across the country. In 2025, CCAC partnered with Carnegie Mellon University on a collaborative effort to address educational challenges.
