We invest in community by building local philanthropy.  Our Mission is to foster a community of grantmakers, promote strategic local leadership, and invest in partnerships for the benefit of the community of Loudoun and Northern Fauquier.

One of the most common questions the staff and Board of the Community Foundation receives is, “What is a community foundation?”

It is never easy to sum up the breadth and scope of our work.  

There is one common denominator shared by every person who supports the Community Foundation—it is love of place.  It is love of the Loudoun and Fauquier community that connects us to the people we care about . It is love of the impressive countryside that renews us. It is love of the organizations improving our lives.

By being a supporter of our core mission—building local, everlasting endowment as well as current community philanthropy—our donors find a way to tangibly express a love of place.   What they give to the Community Foundation, they give to their communities, forever.

Our everlasting vision is the great beauty of the Community Foundation.  What we collectively build today, will be here long after we all are gone.  It is the concept of perpetuity, of being “forever,” that makes a community foundation a unique asset within its footprint..  Our children—and children of our children—will continue to benefit from what has been generously given over this past year and since our founding in 1999.
