The Community Health Center Association of Connecticut is a nonprofit organization that supports community health centers across Connecticut by strengthening their clinical and administrative operations. Founded in 1989 and based in Cheshire, Connecticut, CHCACT aims to advance and align the work of health centers with stakeholders to improve health and wellness, organizing its activities into three primary areas: advocacy, program administration, and training and technical assistance. Through advocacy, CHCACT represents member centers in public policy discussions, testifies at hearings, and collaborates with policymakers and coalitions to improve access to high-quality health care. In program administration, it manages federal, state, and private foundation grants that fund services such as case management for HIV/AIDS-affected individuals, outreach for Medicaid enrollment, and quality improvement programs, while its training and technical assistance support both clinical and administrative staff. In 2023, CHCACT named Deb Polun as Chief Strategy Officer, reflecting ongoing leadership evolution.
