Community HealthCare Connections (CHC) serves as a health resource for the uninsured and underinsured residents of Calhoun County. Our mission is to connect uninsured and underinsured vulnerable individuals to urgent medical care and basic health, navigation, referral, and advocacy services. CHC is a nonprofit supported soley by grants and donations. Our programs include: the Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek, dental services under the Dentists' Partnership, Prescription Drug Access Program, and basic health services (Calhoun County Plan B Coverage, Health Assistance Fund, Referral & Advocacy, and State Insurance Enrollment). The Nursing Clinic provides free basic/urgent medical treatment, free dental cleanings & screenings, basic foot are, and referrals to specialty doctors and community organizations. This walk-in clinic is open Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30 and Tuesday evenings until 7pm. The office is closed daily for lunch from noon-1pm. The dental services are for people without dental insurance. This pay-it-forward initiative provides dental services for free in exchange for the patients volunteering at local nonprofits. Services include dental hygiene education, cleaning and exam along with fillings and extractions as needed. The Prescription Drug Access Program provides patients with chronic medications for free. CHC works directly with the pharmaceutical companies, the patient's physician, and the patient. For more information, call (269) 969-6494.
