With hope, one can accomplish anything. At Community of Hope, we believe every family deserves quality healthcare, stable housing and the opportunity to thrive. For more than 40 years, we have been committed to improving health, ending homelessness and partnering with communities to make DC more equitable.

Families facing poverty and homelessness can overcome challenges like unstable housing, poor health, and unemployment—and we are here to help. With the support of our community of donors, volunteers, and partners, we provide services that empower families to achieve good health, a stable home and lasting hope.

Founded in 1980 as a compassionate ministry of the Church of the Nazarene, Community of Hope has grown into an independent nonprofit, expanding services across Washington DC. With a team of over 200 dedicated staff, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of donors, we continue to care for families, improve lives, and lead change.

Our work has been recognized for excellence in nonprofit management, including The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management (2012) and multiple selections as one of The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces (2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018).
