Community Renewal International is a small- to mid-sized nonprofit based in Shreveport, Louisiana, focused on restoring safe and caring communities through personal relationships. Founded in 1994, it mobilizes a broad network of partners—including individuals, churches, businesses, and civic groups—to renew neighborhoods and create environments where every child is safe and supported. Core programs include Haven Houses, where neighbors organize block-level activities and support one another, and Friendship Houses, which operate in low-income areas as community spaces led by CRI staff to support tutoring, computer training, and character-building activities.

The organization positions itself as an international model for community renewal, encouraging other cities to adapt its approach. In 2025, Southwestern Electric Power Co. partnered with Community Renewal International to support ongoing efforts to build safe and connected neighborhoods.
