Community Theatre of Greensboro is a Greensboro, North Carolina-based performing arts organization founded in 1949, recognized as the oldest arts organization in Guilford County. It aims to unite the diverse community through theatre, inviting participation as actors, backstage crew, or audience members, with a commitment to diversity and inclusive casting. Each year the company stages a slate of five main-stage productions, including The Wizard of Oz, which draws more than 10,000 attendees in the Triad area each November. Beyond its main-stage shows, CTG runs Youth Theatre and Centerstage Youth Performing Group productions, family-focused productions, and educational programs such as OnStage & InFocus, a two-week summer program that engages participants of varying ages and abilities. It also offers Teens Downtown at The Studio at CTG, The Herman and Barbara Cone Family Education and Event Center, and hosts dozens of classes, camps, and workshops for children, teens, adults, and seniors, supported by a financial aid program to ensure access. The organization has received external recognition, including a Freddie G Award for Excellence in Music at the 2018 Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta.
