The Connecticut Army National Guard is a state military organization within the U.S. armed forces, based in Middletown, Connecticut. Tracing its roots to 1636, it continues a long tradition of citizen-soldier service to local communities and the nation. As a reserve component, training typically occurs one weekend per month with a two-week period annually, allowing service members to maintain civilian careers while serving. Members may pursue higher education through tuition-free options and receive financial support for schooling, while developing job skills that translate to civilian work and building lasting ties. The Connecticut Army National Guard operates within the broader Army National Guard framework; a recent nationwide development includes partnerships to expand scholastic esports and inform students about career opportunities through the Guard.
