At Cooking with Kids, we believe the kitchen is more than just a place to prepare meals — it’s a space to connect, learn, and grow together. Our mission is to inspire families to cook, create, and share meaningful moments around food. Through hands-on activities, simple recipes, and educational experiences, we empower children to: 🥕 Develop lifelong cooking and nutrition skills + healthy habits 🧠 Build confidence, creativity, and teamwork 💬 Strengthen communication and family bonds 🌍 Explore global cuisines and cultural diversity Our programs are fully embedded in the school day and we collaborate with parents, educators, and community programs to make healthy eating fun and accessible for all ages. Whether it’s a colorful veggie stir-fry, or blue corn griddle cakes, every dish becomes an opportunity to learn something new — and have a lot of fun doing it! We are in 33 schools in Northern New Mexico and serve 8,000 children in our region. Our core programming is Kindergarten to 6th grade and children get a Cooking with Kids class 6 times per year at every grade level. That’s 42 nutrition classes once a student graduates from elementary school !
