Cooperative Federal is a unique combination of a traditional credit union and a non-profit community development organization. We work to build a strong, fair local economy by providing a community-owned, democratically-controlled, and socially-responsible alternative to mainstream banks. 

=Cooperative Banking Services=
Our credit union was founded by community organizers and activists in 1982.  Today, we are a high-impact, regional Community Development Credit Union (CDCU) with a wide range of loans, mortgages, accounts and transaction services for individuals, small & micro businesses, co-ops and nonprofits. Coop Fed also offer integrated financial education and counseling service, with 2 full time, certified counselors on our staff. By pairing the tools of finance with individualized assistance, we help our members achieve their goals and foster a stronger, fairer economy. 

=Savings Invested Locally=
The combined savings of members are invested in the form of loans to members, members' small businesses, and community organizations. Unlike a commercial bank, Cooperative Federal does not take your savings to finance moving local businesses and jobs away. We have no owners or stockholders other than our members. 

=Join Us=
Credit unions are cooperatives, and that means we are democratically owned and controlled by our members (account holders). Just about anyone can become a member of Coop Fed.
