Cotting School is a private, non-profit day school located in Lexington, Massachusetts, serving students aged 3 to 22 with moderate to severe learning disabilities, communication needs, complex medical conditions, or post-traumatic injuries. The curriculum follows the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and uses small classes organized within lower, middle, and upper school divisions to support academic achievement, skill development, and social-emotional growth in an inclusive community. Founded in 1893, Cotting operates with a mission to enable students with special needs to reach their highest learning potential and independence, and maintains partnerships with families, staff, public funding agencies, donors, and volunteers, including outreach and consulting services regionally, nationally, and internationally. The HOPEhouse program provides a transition pathway for young adults ages 17 to 22 as a co-educational, five-day-per-week, 180-day boarding program on the Cotting campus. Cotting is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the organization reports annual revenue in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
