Founded in 1976 and based in Washington, DC, it coordinates and advocates for Christ-centered higher education among accredited, comprehensive colleges and universities, many with arts and sciences curricula. Its mission is to advance Christ-centered higher education and help member institutions transform lives by linking scholarship and service to biblical truth. Its member institutions extend globally, with more than 130 campuses in the US and Canada and more than 30 campuses in 18 other countries. In May 2026, the CCCU announced the appointment of Ted Song, Ph.D., as senior fellow for global engagement, effective July 1, 2026.
