The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts will be the Twin Cities newest performing arts venue. The Center will join Hennepin Center for the Arts and the Historic Shubert Theater by way of a newly built atrium, which will become the nerve center for the whole complex. The Cowles Center will host it's Inaugural Performance Season in Fall 2011. The mission of the Cowles Center is to provide a home for the local dance community and a venue for national and international dance & performing arts. The Cowles Center will work as an advocate for these artists. We will provide a high-level professional environment, creating more opportunities for them to refine and perform their work. We plan to provide assistance with the "business of dance," providing administrative support based on need. By using all of the resources that make up the campus of the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, we will work to assist the artists who create dance in the Twin Cities by offering office space, marketing assistance, and fundraising assistance, as well as providing other administrative assistance that they may need.
