Creating Friendships for Peace, Inc. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit operating in the international affairs space. The organization promotes and strengthens ties between teens from divided communities by arranging home stays with American families, with each host family welcoming two youths from opposing sides of a conflict. The youths share a bedroom and use the experience to learn about each other’s perspectives, aiming to foster mutual understanding and respect as a basis for lasting peace. Based in Washington, DC, CFP relies on gifts from individuals, charitable foundations, and businesses and does not take government funding. Its programs reflect a history of engagement in Northern Ireland from 1987 to 2007 and current activity in Cyprus since 2009 and Israel/Palestine since 2018.
