Creative BC is an independent non-profit organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia, created and supported by the Province to sustain and grow the province's creative industries, including motion pictures, interactive and digital media, music and sound recording, and magazine and book publishing. It delivers programs and services aimed at expanding British Columbia’s creative economy. The organization administers the provincial motion picture tax credit programs, provides program funding and export marketing support, and offers film commission services through the BC Film Commission, while pursuing strategic initiatives to position the province as a national leader in sustainable production and workforce innovation. Through these activities, Creative BC seeks to attract inward investment and market BC as a partner and destination for domestic and international content creation, acting as an industry catalyst and ambassador to help the sector reach its economic, environmental, and creative potential locally and globally. In 2026, the organization announced leadership changes with Laura Lightbown named Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2026.
