Creciente is an alternative investment firm that seeks to identify and partner with the next generation of great hedge fund managers.  We manage a global multi-manager hedge fund focused on smaller, earlier-stage, fundamental research-driven long/short equity managers.  Our investment thesis is rooted in the belief (supported by academic/industry research and Geoff's 13 years of empirical hedge fund investment experience) that long/short equity managers produce their most outsized returns within the first 3-5 years of their life cycle, but may continue to generate attractive returns thereafter if asset growth is appropriately controlled.

Our objective is to generate the most attractive risk-adjusted returns in the industry for our clients.  We seek to achieve this goal by partnering with just 6-12 world-class managers that we know extremely well and that are diligently culled from hundreds of talented candidates.  We eat our own cooking and have made a significant personal investment alongside our clients.  Creciente's manager partners:

- are of the highest character and integrity
- are extremely accessible and transparent
- are overwhelmingly compensated through performance versus asset growth
- take idiosyncratic risk through concentration, balance sheet management, and the profile of the businesses they invest in, but do not take not excessive market risk
- are particularly adept on the short side
