Crown Center for Senior Living is a nonprofit housing and living community for older adults based in St. Louis, Missouri. It began in 1967 as the Delcrest, founded to provide affordable housing for seniors, and has grown into an ethnically diverse community that welcomes residents from local neighborhoods as well as around the world. The organization focuses on preserving residents’ privacy and dignity while supporting independent living through on-site staff and programming. A notable development in the organization’s recent history was the appointment of Andrew Thorp as Executive Director in December 2023. The community has also expanded leadership and staff roles and engaged in initiatives to improve accessibility, including partnerships and demonstrations to address hearing loss and language barriers through listening and communication solutions.
