Founded in 2017 by Firas Isa and headquartered in Chicago, Crypto Dispensers is the gold standard for buying Bitcoin in the United States. What began with a single Bitcoin ATM grew into a nationwide network of machines placed in premier malls across the country through relationships with Simon Property Group, Brookfield Properties, Tanger Outlets, Spinoso, and Namdar. That foundation gave us firsthand experience with how the Bitcoin ATM industry operated — and how broken it really was.
In 2019, Crypto Dispensers, led by Firas Isa, became the first Bitcoin ATM operator and Bitcoin company to partner with Green Dot Bank. Together we built CDReload, the first retail cash-to-Bitcoin system of its kind. Users can walk into participating stores such as CVS, Casey’s General Stores, Winn-Dixie, Tops, Love’s, Office Depot, Harvey’s, and many others, hand paper cash to the cashier, and see the money credited to their Crypto Dispensers balance within minutes. Just like depositing to a bank account, funds appear in the user’s balance, ready to buy Bitcoin and send it to any wallet.
This model disrupted the abusive fees charged by traditional Bitcoin ATMs. Cash-dependent users and underbanked communities already had access to Bitcoin, but they were being exploited. We removed those barriers, giving people more Bitcoin for their money, and a real chance to protect their wealth and change their lives.
Today, Crypto Dispensers goes beyond cash. Users can also buy Bitcoin with wire transfers, ACH bank payments, debit and credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal through our partners. International users can purchase Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with debit and credit cards.
As we continue scaling both domestically and abroad, our mission remains the same: to make it easier for people everywhere to start with cash and end with Bitcoin.
