Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies, Inc. offers an authorized Massage Therapy Certification Program and Continuing Education for Licensed Healing Arts practitioners through Cumberland Institute. We also offer professional, client-centered, healing arts services through our Cumberland Holistic Professionals Group. We are the only self paced holistic massage therapy certification program in the region. We are committed to educating our students at the pace that provides the best opportunity to have a successful career as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Holistic Integrative Bodywork Professional. We also do not want our students to have the burden of bringing debt into a new career. At Cumberland we also bring passionate successful professionals to teach the modalities in which they have the most training and skills. We want you to learn from professionals who love what they do and have joy in teaching it to you. We have an open house every 12 weeks so you can meet some of our teachers and get a sense of who we are. At our Cumberland Holistic Professionals Group we bring together a set of Licensed Professionals who bring a client-centered, bodymind approach to supporting your journey of healing and wellness. Cumberland Institute started 25 years ago in a Nashville area living room. Today, Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies, Inc. is owned and operated by Mary McDaniel, LMT and Steve Sommers LMFT, LMT. Mary is a Cumberland Graduate (1993) and Steve began teaching at Cumberland in 1995. Occupying the same location in Brentwood for more than 20 years, our instructors are like a family. All combined, our 11 Lead Instructors (including Mary and Steve who take an active roll in teaching) have been teaching at Cumberland Institute for more than 150 years. We love teaching at Cumberland and have a great passion for what we teach. In the last few years. We have added 100s of hours of education for Licensed Massage Therapists, and a professional clinic.
