The mission of the Cuyahoga Falls Library is to connect people with the world of ideas, information, and imagination by providing access and professional guidance to resources that inform, entertain, and enrich. Incorporated in 1911, Cuyahoga Falls Library serves the people of Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake. The library has a collection of almost 200,000 items, and provides easy access to items from many other libraries around the state. Checkouts at the library doubled from 2000 to 2009 and are now almost 1 million per year. The library also provides many other services to individuals and organizations in the community, from visits to schools and pre-schools to delivering books and other materials to seniors who can't make it to the library. The library is open all but nine days per year. We receive a large portion of our funding from a levy on local property taxes. The Friends of the Library provide generous support through money raised in their book sales.
