Mission CYN’s mission is to provide and expand access to comprehensive, quality mental health services while increasing awareness and working to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health. Vision We envision a society where mental wellness is embraced, where all people have access to quality mental health resources, are treated with dignity and respect, and receive the support and tools they need to grow and thrive. Overview Founded in 1978, CYN (Community Youth Network) Counseling Center has been a cornerstone of mental health care in Northern Illinois for nearly five decades. We are a nonprofit counseling center dedicated to serving children, adolescents, adults, and families with accessible, compassionate, and effective care. Each year, we support about 3,000 individuals who come to us through referrals from schools, law enforcement, community agencies, and self-referrals. Our services address a wide range of needs, from depression, anxiety, and trauma to family conflict and substance use. CYN provides a comprehensive array of therapeutic programs, including school-based counseling, crisis intervention, family programs, case management, and specialized support tailored to diverse community needs. Our dedicated team of therapists, case managers, overnight crisis workers, and support staff share one goal: reducing barriers to mental health care. Whether through bilingual services, affordable or no-cost options, or community partnerships, we work to ensure everyone has access to the help they deserve. CYN remains committed to building a healthier, more resilient community by delivering mental health care that strengthens families, supports healing, and restores hope.
