Dance City is a Newcastle-based performing arts organization that serves as a hub for dance creation, learning, and performance. It offers a broad program including more than 65 weekly classes across over 40 dance styles for all ages and levels, from beginners to aspiring professionals, as well as formal training for young dancers and support for professional artists and choreographers. The organization positions itself as a regional development entity for dance, presenting a regular slate of performances ranging from contemporary to ballet and world styles, and commissioning new works that premiere in its own theatre. Located in the heart of the city, Dance City operates from a purpose-built dance facility and serves as a venue for social participation, skill development, fitness, and professional development within the dance ecology of the North East.
