The Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies is a U.S. Department of Defense institute focused on regional and global security issues in the Asia-Pacific, offering executive education and conferences for United States and Asia-Pacific military and civilian representatives in Hawaii and across the region. It supports the U.S. Pacific Command's aim to develop professional and personal ties among national security communities, operating with a non-combat mission and a multilateral approach to security challenges. The center's work focuses on the interactions among military, economic, political, and diplomatic policy, and it seeks to build trust among future leaders through its three academic components: executive education, conferences, and research and publications. 

The center is located in Honolulu, Hawaii, opened Sept. 4, 1995, and employs a staff described as a few dozen to a couple hundred people. In January 2022, it partnered with Pew Charitable Trusts to present a Take20 maritime series webinar on the politics of protecting fish, illustrating collaboration with external organizations on security topics.
