Danita's Children is a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing and caring for orphaned children, addressing their spiritual, physical, academic, and emotional needs. Started in 1999 by Danita Estrella in Ouanaminthe, Haiti, the organization has expanded to support more than 100 orphans, operates a school serving about 350 students, and runs a feeding program that provides over 16,000 meals each month. Its on-site facilities also include a church and a medical center, where healthcare professionals offer primary medical and dental care and strive to provide a context of compassion and spiritual support alongside physical treatment. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, the organization operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to respond to the global and local needs of vulnerable children, including those impacted by issues such as orphaning and labor. A recent development noted is the launch of Mountain Outreach in 2018, a program aimed at addressing malnutrition in remote rural regions of Haiti.
