Dannemora Federal Credit Union (DFCU) is a full-service financial institution  organized in 1958 by a group of employees of the Dannemora State Hospital. Those employees decided to collaborate to create a place where they and fellow employees could save and borrow money safely, confidentially, and at fair rate of return. 

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, DFCU is owned by our members with a volunteer Board of Directors that is elected by our members, meaning there are no stockholders to pay. DFCU currently serves over 20,000 members and has over $220,000,000 in assets. Annually, DFCU reinvests over $50,000 back into our community with annual sponsorships and donations. 

While we have expanded to 4 counties, our core beliefs remain the same - to provide our members with a safe place to save and borrow money while providing exceptional service and products. 

Those who reside, work, attend school or worship in Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence County, NY are eligible to become a member at DFCU.
