Daring Girls is a Denver-based nonprofit that works through local partnerships to equip girls with the knowledge, tools, mentorship, and support they need to shape their futures. In collaboration with its sister organization, GLAMI, it coordinates mentoring programs that help secondary school students stay in school, develop personal leadership, and drive positive change in their communities, starting in Tanzania and extending beyond. The organization runs two UNESCO-award–winning mentoring programs: a four-year Binti Shupavu program for lower secondary students (ages 13-18) that emphasizes study skills, leadership, health, and self-confidence to improve graduation rates, and a two-year Kisa Project for young women (ages 17-21) that prepares them for university and social impact, culminating in a team capstone project. Participants in both programs tend to complete secondary school at higher rates and achieve higher test scores than their peers.
