DataLink, L.L.C. was organized specifically to address the evolution of GPS technology in agriculture. It was started in Alliance, Nebraska in 1997; long before many knew the benefits of precision agriculture. It began at a time when the practice of GPS mapping was not widely accepted. With a vision that technology would play an ever increasing role in the agricultural sector, Del and Lorna Penlerick formed DataLink, L.L.C. as a crop insurance agency using GPS to measure and GIS to map every acre they insured. DataLink was one of the first 100 in the nation to introduce mobile precision GPS mapping as a service to the crop insurance policy holder. In the years that followed, US government service offices came to embrace the technology with most FSA offices now using GIS for crop reporting and certification.

The natural evolution of the businees took the company to the cutting edge of precision agricultural technology as the product line expanded to include GPS Mapping, GIS software, Handheld GPS, and GPS machine guidance systems such as lightbars, auto steering units, and sub-inch, repeatable Autopilot systems. As with their other companies, Del and Lorna's mission is to provide their customers with the tools to assist them in competing successfully in today's gobal marketplace.
