Dauntless Air is an aerial firefighting company based in Appleton, Minnesota, operating within the environmental services sector. It states that its mission is to protect people, land, and property from wildfires and that its vision is to win the war against wildfires. The description highlights that the US wildfire landscape is evolving due to climate change, forest health concerns, and growth of development in the wildland-urban interface, which together demand new approaches to aerial firefighting and rapid response.

To address this, the company supports rapid initial attack through a network of smaller, lower-cost forward-attack aircraft and collaborates with ground crews and other aerial forces to perform targeted drops until fires are contained. Dauntless Air operates Fire Boss aircraft as part of its firefighting operations, serving public emergency management entities and other firefighting organizations that require enhanced initial response and direct air attack capabilities. In June 2026, Ridgewood Infrastructure LLC acquired Dauntless Air, representing a notable recent development for the company.
