Dave Phillips Music & Sound is a small, locally focused regional retailer of musical instruments based in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. The business began in 1977 when Dave Phillips opened a store to serve musicians who traveled long distances for gear and service. Dave and his wife Alice have guided the company since its inception, maintaining a straightforward approach and an emphasis on reliability and honesty as the shop evolves.

The lineup has grown to include band and orchestra instruments along with music education, providing a more complete music-shop experience for the local community. Dave Phillips's industry involvement, including election to the board of the National Association of Music Merchants, signals engagement beyond the immediate retail operation.
