Davenport Community Schools is a public K-12 district based in Davenport, Iowa. It serves students in the communities of Blue Grass, Buffalo, Davenport, and Walcott across 32 schools, including three high schools, six intermediate schools, seventeen elementary schools, and six preschool/alternative education sites. The district is classified as urban and educates about 15,305 students with approximately 1,286 teachers. Founded in 1858, the district established one of the earliest publicly funded high schools in the United States, created a teachers’ training school, and hired the nation’s first female superintendent. In May 2026, Davenport Community Schools launched PathWise Student Tracking, a check-in system to monitor student bus rides as part of its transportation oversight.
