DAVIS POLITICAL REVIEW is the first and only nonpartisan political commentary magazine on the campus of UC Davis.

Our story begins with a simple question asked by Founder and Former Editor-in-Chief Alex E. Tavlian in October 2012: “Are there any UCD Political Science majors interested in starting a political commentary magazine?” The first editorial board was elected and the publication was formed on December 5, 2012. In late April, the Davis Political Review launched its website and released its first print issue on the Davis campus.

After a four-month rest period, the Davis Political Review was reestablished by Editor-in-Chief Kristine Craig, in January 2014.

At a critical point in the Davis Political Review’s history, our publication took on an entirely new approach to its capability to reach all students on campus. Through weekly online articles and a quarterly printed publication, writers of the Davis Political Review inform and educate students about meaningful political issues they may not have paid attention to otherwise. While the editorial board of our publication remains nonpartisan, each writer is encouraged to take a distinct viewpoint in crafting opinion pieces published daily online.

Davis Political Review consists of a 24-member staff that is completely student run. The dedicated writers, editors and board members of the Davis Political Review make it possible to achieve our mission: engaging students and members of the community in a constructive dialogue around complex political issues in a way it has never before.

The baton was passed to current Editor-in-Chief Angela Su in March 2016.
