Day One Health is an international program focused on intensive newborn care, active since 2005 in Vietnam with support from local and international NGOs. It was registered in Redding, California in 2017 as an independent charity and is based there, operating in the Hospitals and Health Care sector. The organization collaborates with governments, private companies, and local and international partners to expand access to newborn healthcare technology in low-resource settings. To address hospital equipment and care gaps in low-resource environments, Day One Health employs a three-part model that provides suitable equipment, intensive training, and ongoing facility support. Together, these efforts aim to reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity by treating common, easily managed conditions such as jaundice, respiratory distress, sepsis, and hypothermia. The organization maintains its focus through partnerships with various stakeholders, supporting facilities in implementing newborn care improvements.
