Bridging the gap between great ideas in the lab and marketable products is a problem for most researchers. As former technologists and business professionals, we founded DCF Ventures to address this unmet need. Scientists generate ideas in a laboratory setting. Business people find the money to transform those ideas into marketable products. However, scientists and business people speak different languages, and often find it difficult to communicate. This "language barrier" prevents novel technologies from making their way to the market in quick and efficient manner. DCF Ventures is there to bridge this language barrier by helping scientists build strong businesses plans to attract venture capital. By creating a collaborative working environment, for example holding meetings in labs located on UCLA's South Campus, DCF Ventures is able help its clients identify the potential market of new technologies, understand the competitive landscape and develop its clients' business models and strategies. Members of DCF Ventures have developed expertise in the Healthcare Service, MedTech, Internet, NanoTech, and CleanTech industries.
