Dekan Athletic was founded over 30 years ago by George Dekan. George Dekan was an athlete and an inventor. Early in his career, before the development of solid state timing devices, Dekan used his military background as a radar technician and his experience as a high school electronics teacher, to invent and obtain a patent for a 1/100 second Athletic Performance Analyzer which was purchased and used by pro football teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Bengals. At that time, George formed the Dekan Timing and Athletic Equipment Corp., which evolved over the years into a premier supplier of Gymnastic and Track and Field equipment. Over the past 30 years Dekan Athletic Equipment Corp. has been the premier supplier of gymnastics and track and field equipment to over 4000 customers including High Schools, Universities, Gymnastic Clubs, and Fitness Organizations across the country.
