Delphi Academy of Los Angeles is an independent, co-educational day school serving pre-K through 12th grade in the Los Angeles area. The program blends a career- and college-prep curriculum with a strong emphasis on practical learning and a broad slate of co-curricular activities. It uses a proficiency-based approach, awarding credit only when a student can demonstrate the required abilities, and graduation hinges on demonstrated critical thinking, ethics, communication, teamwork, leadership, substantial self-directed projects, and a grounding in traditional subjects and classic literature. The Los Angeles campus originated in 1984 in La Cañada-Flintridge as the southern California node of the Delphi Schools network, a non-profit organization founded in 1973. The campus later purchased nine acres in the Lake View Terrace area and opened its new facilities in January 2003, and it is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges for Grades 9–12.
