Deltech Corporation operates site in Baton Rouge, LA. to manufacture , VT (Vinyl Toluene), PMS (para-Methylstyrene and other specialty monomers. The primary difference between PMS and VT is the methyl styrene isomer distribution. PMS contains 95% para isomer while VT is a mixture of the meta and para isomers. Methyl styrene monomers provide improved performance in resins for specialty paints, hydrocarbon resins for adhesives, specialty polymers and unsaturated polyester resins. 

Deltech introduced another specialty monomer, TBS (tertiary-Butylstyrene), in 1993. TBS is intended for advanced applications where low monomer volatility is important. TBS is used in high resilience coatings, adhesives and specialty copolymers. 

Deltech operates two specialty monomer production units at the Baton Rouge site. Extensive raw material and product storage facilities are available to support plant operations. Plant manufacturing facilities also include a unit to produce the reactive aromatic monomer DVB (Divinylbenzene). DVB is used primarily in the manufacture of ion exchange resins, DVB is also used as a crosslinking agent in adhesives and polymers. DVB is supplied as 63% and 80% DVB grades. 

Deltech operates a continuous pilot plant on-site to provide a small-scale unit that simulates plant conditions to improve operating efficiencies and quality and develop new monomer products. Inquiries for development or testing of new products are invited. 

The Baton Rouge Plant is strategically located with river, rail and highway access to provide US distribution by barge, railcar or truck. Ocean freighters can also be accessed to allow cost-effective shipping services to customers worldwide.
