During the season, the Des Moines Symphony presents seven pairs of Masterworks concerts and a Pops series, including the traditional New Year’s Eve Pops, at the Des Moines Civic Center, along with education, outreach, family and other special performances. It also operates a summer concert series at the Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park. In addition, the organization produces Yankee Doodle Pops annually on the Iowa State Capitol grounds, an event that draws more than 100,000 attendees and represents the state’s largest single-day concert attendance.
