A HISTORY OF INNOVATION Desierto Verde is the industry leader in promoting environmentally sensitive landscaping and site development. We restore, grow, transplant and service a broad spectrum of the highest quality, compatible native plant material. Shortly after our inception in the early 1980s, Desierto Verde developed our innovative Boxing Methodology that allowed for the salvage and transportation of large, native vegetation. For the first time, spectacular native trees like the Ironwood, Palo Verde and Mesquite could be successfully salvaged and relocated in the face of oncoming development. Our processes have been applauded by environmentalists and have changed Arizona landscapes. How? By creating new standards for water efficient designs that reflect the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. In fact, in 1986, the City of Scottsdale, Arizona became the first municipality to adopt the Desierto Verde-pioneered method of native vegetation transplanting. Over the next two decades, many other communities followed Scottsdale’s lead, resulting in Desierto Verde techniques becoming the community standard for cities like Phoenix, Mesa and Peoria, Arizona. Today, Desierto Verde continues to develop innovative ways to salvage and manage our natural desert landscape. And we use everything from GPS satellites to old fashioned shovels in our quest to positively impact environmental preservation.
