Disability Rights Louisiana is a nonprofit legal services organization focused on protecting, empowering, and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities and senior citizens in Louisiana. It was established in 1977 under a federal mandate to create protection and advocacy systems in each state, initially serving individuals with developmental disabilities and later broadening to include other disabilities and older adults. The organization pursues its mission through direct legal representation, information and referral, education and training, and community advocacy.

Based in New Orleans with offices in Baton Rouge and Lafayette and field offices across the state, DRLA employs about fifty staff and operates with a budget of roughly $3.8 million. In February 2020 it changed its name from Advocacy Center of Louisiana to Disability Rights Louisiana to clarify branding and align with a national network of federally authorized protection and advocacy organizations, while maintaining its core mission and services. A notable recent development is the appointment of Ranie Thompson as Executive Director in February 2024.
