Dixon Place is a nonprofit performing arts organization based in New York City, New York, that supports the development and presentation of original work across performing and literary arts. It places diversity, racial justice, and gender equity at its core and prioritizes fair remuneration for artists. Since its founding in 1986, the organization has fostered an environment where artists are encouraged to take risks and explore new ideas and practices. In 2009 it opened a 6,000-square-foot, accessible facility in downtown Manhattan, featuring a 120-seat theater, a lounge, and an art gallery. Over more than three decades, Dixon Place has supported a range of artists who have gone on to wider recognition, and a 2023 partnership with Xiaomi reflects ongoing collaborations beyond its core program.
