National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NITT) is a public technical university based in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1964 to support heavy industries under national guidance, it is one of the Government of India’s 20 National Institutes of Technology. The institute offers a broad range of programs, including ten undergraduate and twenty-three graduate programs, awarding B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees. In addition to engineering, it provides courses in management and architecture.

Historically, the institute has been ranked among top engineering schools in India by several publications, with notable rankings in 2005, 2007, and 2009.
